Hello BWMR Families!!
I cannot begin to express how much I am enjoying teaching your children. In ALL of the classes I teach, students are exceeding my expectations and learning the technique of ballet (or improving on what they already know) faster than I have expected! In the Upper School, dancers are embracing the acting side of dance as they rehearse their roles for the Nutcracker and are mastering pointe work. Beginning Ballet II students are learning complicated directionality in their choreography as well as mastering the foundation of the ballet class. Pre-Ballet & Beginning Ballet I students are also building a strong foundation while bringing joyful enthusiasm to class each week. Even our youngest Creative Dance students are learning important concepts such as the "reverence" and gross motor control. Every single student at BWMR has a unique quality to bring to our school and I love working with each one of them every week. We have some exciting things coming up as we head into the holiday season!
Craft & Draft & Costume Sale
Thank you so very much to everyone who baked, donated costumes, performed or drove your kids to be there to perform in the Craft & Draft on October 15th and our Costume Sale on Oct. 8th!! We raised $80 toward our Nutcracker costs this year and also met many, many young girls interested in dancing- especially after seeing our dancers in "Live Art Performances". We even added one new dancer to our school who will be performing in the Nutcracker with us! (Welcome Mason & family!!)
As we continue throughout the year, please remember the following.
* Remember to sign out your dancers when you leave.
* Please remain quiet in the waiting area- especially with cellular phones and other noise producing devices. If you would like to use them, please bring headphones.
*Keep your children bundled up when heading outside after dance. Going from hot (from dancing!) to cold is hard on the body's immune system and muscles!
Nutcracker preparations are underway! Most of the costumes are here, students have been learning choreography since as early as September and many of you have questions about what you need to be prepared! Attached is a list of things your student will need for the performance. The Nutcracker is a fun and wonderful experience and one that has SO many details attached to it. Rest assured, you will have all the information you need when it comes to the performance and I am here to answer your many questions. :) Some of you have expressed confusion about the schedule I sent, so I have re-written it using all roles for the Nutcracker rather than levels. I hope this helps!
*If you need to order anything for your child through BWMR for the performance please do so NO LATER than November 19th. I will be placing one big order for leotards, tights and shoes on that day and will not be ordering any more uniform-wear until the new year.
